Writing Nerds vs Rough Writers- Which Are You? SUN 4-21-24
This has turned into a bit of a rivalry over here.

Don Martin, Real-Life Writer, is an email newsletter & blog exploring down-to-earth writing. Most installments are free, with few for paid subscribers.
As we spoke before, writers seem to be dividing themselves into three teams of opinions on the best way to write. That explanation is here.
The teams.
It varies from day to day, but I can say without much doubt, that today, I am still not a member of the third group.
Writing nerds are “all-hat-and-no-cattle” about the action of writing. They are more into the prep than the actual words on the page or the publish button.
Roughriders build and write as they go, riding that writing bronco by the seat of their pants, hoping for a good result, to stay in the saddle long enough to hear the buzzer and win a buckle.
The games.
These two groups will be playing a huge division championship here in the second quarter of the year for the easy-math-prediction semi-finals at the end of June.
Winners can easily do the math for early predictions regarding income and contest placement for the year 2024, based on the pantser vs planner playoffs.
Last words
I suppose the normal question at this point would be asking you to which group you belong and why. Are you rooting for that group to win the trophy, or are there other agendas at work in your life?
