For the writer, your investment is the time and research you put into a story. Your return may be measured in reads, readers, or money.
If the story is complete, the investment is already made, so try this one thing. Add a link at the end of it to one of your previous stories that is similar in subject matter. Make the link a sentence referring to your other story. Highlight that sentence and link it to your earlier story.
You have now planted two seeds in the amount of time it takes to plant one. Do that with most of your stories and see what grows.
