Writer-Man and His Side-kick, Captain Morgan, with ALLCAPS, the Wonder Dog
In “Blurring the Line”

Narrator: “There is a fine line between fiction and nonfiction.
“Between instruction and entertainment.
“Between research and runaway imagination.
“There’s a fine line between the serious treatment of a topic and being unable to restrain one’s sense of humor.”
There are people who have always been incapable of not cracking a joke for good measure. (Is that a double-negative?)
Writer-man theme music
At any rate, my alter-ego, Writer-man, is just such a person. He and his sidekick, Captain Morgan, along with a cameo appearance from a pack of Luckies, find themselves in today’s adventure entitled “Blurring the Line,” in which our hero comes to the realization that he is no longer able to tell the difference between good humor and cheap tawdry puns to gain a smile, something which, incidentally, his editor at the Daily Medium, never did.
“I just don’t know when to take you seriously,” Lois argued with him that morning when they met at Moonbuck’s for coffee. “ I’ve never seen a cup of coffee so large.”
el Grande
“That’s right Lois, they call it el Grande, and it costs more than I will make all day writing for the Daily Medium.
“It’s a good thing I don’t have to use footnotes on these puff-pieces. There’s nothing to cite except my frontal lobe.
“Let’s go Lois, I need to get to the office- there are lines to blur. And I have lunch plans with the Captain at eleven. Boy, where has this day gone?”
Tune in tomorrow.
Tune in tomorrow when Writer-man and Captain Morgan are joined at lunch by their old friend, a Pack of Luckies. and we hear Writer-Man say “Boy I must be getting old, it takes forever for my eyes to adjust after I come in from the noontime sun.”
“Ha ha ha,” laughs Captain Morgan, “ see… you’re doin’ it again!”
