You may not have one fan or follower yet.
One follower
But you may have one, and maybe they’d like to read more from you, or maybe they think of themselves as your friend and would like to know what you are up to. You’d probably do well always to think that you are writing your newsletter for that one person. Build on that connection.
You may not have a book signing or a tour coming up, but whenever you get to that point, you will have a mailing list to announce it to instead of a vacant lot.
Better writing
The more you write, the better your writing gets. The last time I looked, newsletters require writing.
More views=more reads=more money. Newsletters help you direct more eyes to your stuff.
You can direct readers to other places where you write.
You may announce a new book for sale.
Book sale
You may announce a big sale on an older book.
Followers and readers are a blessing. send them a thank you note.
Don’t do as I did. Two years ago on Twitter, some “author” responded to one of my tweets that newsletters were spammy, and that they would never do one. I spent the next two years with no newsletter and no mailing list, trying not to be spammy.
Just be sincere and not spammy. I wish I had.
Thanks for reading!
