The normal way to make money is to supply someone with what they want or need.
The fastest way is usually what we would call a “scam.”
Let’s dissect a couple of scams.
There are many different types of online scams, but some common examples are these.
Phishing Scams. These scams involve fraudulent emails or messages that are designed to trick you into providing sensitive information like your passwords, credit card numbers, or bank account details. These are aggravating at the least. Running an on-line business, I get several a day! Even individuals receive these constantly.
Tech Support Scams. These scams involve fraudulent pop-up messages or phone calls that claim to be from a legitimate tech support company. The scammers will try to convince you to give them remote access to your computer, and then they will install malware or steal your personal information. Many times they will simply send you an invoice, and play the numbers on which ones will get paid.
Lottery or Prize Scams. These scams typically involve an email or message that informs you that you have won a large sum of money or a valuable prize. However, in order to claim your prize, you will need to pay a fee or provide your personal information. Sometimes you will be fortunate enough to be contacted by the new president of an emerging nation on another continent, hoping you will help them invest several million dollars.
Romance Scams. These scams involve someone posing as a romantic prospect online, usually through a dating website or social media platform. They will build a relationship with you over time, and then ask you for money or personal information.
Investment Scams. These scams involve fraudulent websites or messages that offer high returns on investments. The scammers will often claim to have insider knowledge or access to exclusive investments, but in reality, they are just trying to steal your money.
It is, of course, important to be cautious and do your research before giving out any personal information or money online.
