Success in writing, like in many other pursuits, often requires persistence, resilience, and the willingness to keep pushing forward despite obstacles, setbacks, rejections, and the foul stench of failure. Writing is a craft that takes time to develop, and success rarely comes overnight.
New writers must be prepared to weather the challenges of the writing journey, whether itโs facing rejection from publishers, struggling with writerโs block, or doubting their own abilities.
Perseverance means showing up to write, even when inspiration is lacking, revising your work repeatedly to improve it, seeking feedback and learning from criticism, and continuing to pursue your writing goals even in the face of derision.
