The fact is, if you are thinking about becoming a writer, even on a part-time basis, there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING brand new I can bring to you to learn, so I am just not so hypocritical as to say I can.
There are only two things I can bring you. 1) How I did whatever you are trying to do, and 2)a style that you enjoy reading.
You can google, ask A I, or do a search on all the Medium writers, and you will find an explanation of the methods to do anything you wish to do. At that point, you may know a lot more than me but just haven’t done it much yet.
Therefore I will spend a lot of my time writing about stuff that amuses me. I will promote some of my stories on Medium here, and provide free links to that pay site. I may also promote some of my other writings and give them away for free if I can.
I will continue to use clean language and non-political topics. I will probably write a lot about writing, with some about real estate and other things. I desire to build up the number of my readers so that my future books and articles will be more profitable to me.
The stories I will be sharing with you will be mostly new stories and occasionally a repeat that has been enjoyed previously.
It is FREE to subscribe here, so I try to make it silly not to subscribe.
Thank you,

7 Ways My Stories Can Easily Get Found By Readers
It’s really pretty sweet!

1. My Profile Page
This one is easy. My name is Don Martin. In the language of Medium, that’s pronounced DonMartin711 (Caps are optional) Just go to Medium.com/@donmartin711 and you can bookmark it if you want to. (The “@” is mandatory here.)
I believe that everything I publish anywhere on Medium eventually shows up there on my profile page, whining and bruised, smelling like Lucky Strikes and Captain Morgan, and telling stories of being abducted while doing volunteer work at some food bank somewhere.
2. Following Me
Oddly enough, that means you follow me. Like a cheap private detective, you want to stay a couple of cars back, and not let me see what you’re up to. You will have a good idea of what I am doing. You just won’t see what I buy when I go to the drugstore.
3. Envelope Sub Me
Clicking on my envelope icon gets Medium to send you a note in your email account every time I crank out one of the little darlin’s. You won’t miss anything I publish on Medium.
4. By Topic
Up at the top of the Main Medium page, there is a horizontal list of tags and topics you have shown interest in previously. Let’s say I pen a classic on “cattle-spit,” and you’re a big-cattle-spit fan. Click on cattle-spit, and there’s a wad of cattle-spit stories, including mine!
5. Search Box
When all else fails, you can type my name in the box with the magnifying glass icon, but I have no clue what will turn up. I am not so vain as to search for myself, so I can’t address that.
6. My Own Medium Publication
Yes, I do have my own publication, “Writers and Storytellers” where many of my stories go to live, much to the chagrin of Medium, who has tried to shut it down several times. Remember, “We put the grin in chagrin!” Or not.
7. My Substack Newsletter/website
Found at
where you will always find my Medium stories, my extra content, and more, but if you subscribe to it, you will also find you receive A SUBSCRIPTION TO MY NEWSLETTER. Remember…
