“Sad and Pathetic” still not a tag.

Yes, I have noticed that many writers have taken on a desperate attitude lately, allowing them the poor taste to stoop to newer outrageous tricks.
Though I myself, would never succumb to the more base temptation of writers, I must admit that even I have once or twice slowed way down when I was passing the minnows, worms, and click-bait shops by the lake.
I also had to have Alexa dial-up ChatGPT to help me with the stickier parts of this story.
And even though I am now free from concern over my likeability and read numbers, I still think, from time to time, about plagiarizing a little Steinbeck, the light-hearted years. I know I won’t because now I realize that the currency of my success is measured only by the number of stories in my portfolio, and not those in my Twitter family or Substack subscription page. Every story is another link on the pathway to glory!
So go ahead, ye scantily clad journalists, trying any trick to outperform each other on the old stats page. You are nothing to me anymore, neither competition nor embarrassment.
I am in a new place.
Thanks for reading!
