On a personal level, I have always enjoyed stories. I love Mark Twain. I listened for hours on end to Garrison Keillor. I listened every week to a thirty-minute radio show entitled National Lampoon Radio Hour. I watch Duck Dynasty when I can.
I should not say so, but even starting in junior high school, I judged books by several things. They couldn’t pass the one-hundred-page mark. They had to have some illustrations to break the monotony. And they had to be a grabber of a story.
If they didn’t have me by the time I got to the librarian, I simply said I was turning it in.
I’ve had some great friends who were great storytellers.
So I know about stories.
