Good Thursday, my friends!
No email today- taking the day today for blog-entry. I have some tasks on my real-estate website in terms of homes being sold, and therefore needing to have their status changed.
I am so happy to see that spring is here, not only temperature-wise but also business-wise in real estate. It is a blessing.
It’s a large and important piece of the puzzle in my gig economy.
I am also working toward my 1000th Medium essay and some more merch for here on my Substack.
It’s 10 am here in Nashville, and I need a quick break. I’ll be right back…
Well, it’s now 3:30 pm, and I had a reader yesterday who felt that writing a short story in one day may be a little too intense, so today I dealt with the way to write one in a week instead of in a day…
Yesterday our state legislature began trying to pass a bill that would allow teachers to carry a concealed weapon at their school if they get a permit and take a 40-hour course every year.
Now I hate to say this, but it only takes a two or three-hour written test normally, and it seems as though there was maybe a couple of hours of target practicing, and a little time learning how to pull your pistol apart and put it back together.
Certainly not 40 hours a year on a pistol that hasn’t changed since the last time, although a little range practice during the year would be nice.
Of course, there is the normal amount of grousing from the academics about worst-case scenarios, but, I, swear, it is primarily the ones who know nothing about firearms who are the most vocal. Rather than learn a little about them, I believe there are some who would rather just be afraid of them.
I thought this might be something fun to talk about our opinions on.
4:30, quick nap time, back soon.
Thanks,
-don
