That’s what we call it around here

I am a southern writer. Some feel sad for me. Some think I am odd. Some think I am just quaint.
I feel happy and quite blessed for my geographic origin.
In my home area, we have a descriptive phrase, “thick as thieves.”
This implies several items or people quite close, even to the point of sharing secrets. The implication is negative, as being used by someone who is an outsider to the group of theives.
A group of friends could be almost described as being this group of thieves.
A group of my medium stories that are almost complete, but not yet published, require a decision on my part that I hope you can help me with. They are what I would call thick as thieves sometimes. They almost have a life of their own, and they seem anxious to get out there into the world.
And I dont know where to keep them.
I am used to publishing most of them as immediately as I can, so I am not sure what to do with them, now that I am experimenting with submitting them to more diverse publications. There may be more than ever.
Do you keep them in a word doc or a file? Do you keep them in your Medium draft folder? Do you submit them all as soon as you can, and just keep a list of where you have submitted them?
So there you have my problem. If my stories proliferate more quickly than they get published, what do you do with them when they get to be thick as thieves?
Thank you for your time.
P.S. If you liked this story, you could go HERE, leave your name, and I’d be happy to send you ALL my Medium stories whenever I publish them.
