In some ways, I feel compelled to tell you about what’s gone on this week. In other ways, of course, I am certain that many of you just don’t give a fat rat’s patootie.
But then I realize that some of you can read my stuff for free in a number of places already. Others of you pay a bit of das geld to do so.
So I ask myself why are these people here?
As it turns out a few of you are here just to hobnob around and be buds.
I am blown away if that indeed is your motivation. Thank you.
I have been thinking lately.
I have spent so much of my life chasing after likes and follows on social media, only to find eventually that those platforms can change on a dime, taking all my efforts with them, and leaving me with little or no way to announce a new book if I were ever to write one.
Therefore, as I keep rambling that I am moving at least a good bit of my efforts toward having my own newsletter. I will also probably publish less on Medium, partially because of some of that, and more on here.
This newsletter is free and well worth it! I have accidentally generated another Substack newsletter that will carry different content, and have the ability to accept gratuities.
But to all my Twitter buddies, and to all my Medium buddies, Facebook and Linkedin buddies… please think about this. You will not pay any money, and I won’t flood you with info. (In fact, you will probably see less of me,) if you would just make that jump and subscribe to my letter.
The whole deal has gotten me a bit depressed.
To me, everything used to be funny. I could laugh at a rock.
But lately, my health/humor has diminished to the point that I sometimes just sit and look out the window. Sad…
See?
More tomorrow, I hope.
Thanks,
-don
