My Stories’ Attitudes
Yes, attitudes.
Yes, attitudes.
Once the headmaster of my school told me something I will never forget.
He told me, “I can tell by the way a student walks down the hall whether he will ever amount to anything.”
I feel the same way about my medium stories.
I want them to have a good attitude as they graduate and go off into the world. They can be either of two ways.
They may be all dressed up and excited about going off to the prom.
Or they may be slouching, holding a suitcase waiting for a Trailways bus.
The fresh ones are off to the big dance. the slow ones are waiting around.
It's not just impatience that makes me want my stories to be at their peak condition. You as a reader don’t want to receive a story I'm not excited about.
