My Pledge as a Reader of Your Medium Stories
I know I look like a nerd in this picture from this angle, but I’m not.
I’m a reader, one who has also done some writing.
So today, I am making to you a short pledge based on our implied reader/writer contract.
If I happen upon one of your stories and enjoy your writing, I will follow you.
To the extent that I am advised of a new story from you, I will read it, too.
If I find that I really enjoy your work, I will subscribe to the delivery of them to me by email, so I won’t miss them.
When I read one of your stories, I will read it to the end.
I will clap for your story after I read it, 50 claps, not 49 or 1, as any figure but 50 may be interpreted in ways I did not mean, as in “faint praise.”
I will try to leave a comment and chat more now that I have figured out how, and am no longer the last remaining Medium reader ignorant of the process.
In return, you can do the heavy lifting and write the stories.
