I only have one chance to cause my day to unfold properly and profitably. I know that this day needs to see me publish three stories somewhere.
We’ve talked previously about how I keep an idea book from which I draw my morning stories.
But then I need to replenish my idea book.
Or maybe you don’t have a notebook of story ideas yet.
If I am out of ideas, here’s what I do.
Go to your stats page, and scroll down past the beautiful graph. Below it you will find the list of every story you have published since the dawn of time.
At the top of that list, to the right side, is a pull-down menu that probably says “latest” now. You can pull that menu down to the “most read” or “highest earnings” versions.
Pick one list and start at the top rereading each story.
Ask yourself if there is anything more you should have or wish you had said. Has anything changed that should be updated?
Do you just think differently about it now?
Have you been asked questions about it?
Make changes. Write it anew. Grab a better photo. Make a great headline. Hit publish and set it free.
Check all your other past stories and see if others need refreshing.
You will never run out of ideas.
Thanks, if you enjoyed this story, please follow me and/or my publication.
