Monday's Journal
Kickstarting October.
Today’s entry depends on certain premises.
I’m a writer.
I live a writer’s life.
You care.
Well, thanks for caring.
Good morning!
This is what a writer’s life is all about.
Some of you want to know because you are seriously considering becoming a writer.
others are just plain nosey. Almost voyeuristic.
Number one, I wake up. i would much prefer to continue sleeping, but the voices are quietly coaxing me “Get out of bed you lazy piece of crap!”
So, wake up, CHECK.
Number two, I go to the bathroom to start working on my story ideas. That may sound different than I intended it to sound.
I have found that many quality ideas come to me in my tiny hot, steamy shower. me and my walker and my wheelchair, all cramping up, but not falling down.
Emergency rooms are full of non-preparers who tried to shower solo, like a warrior.
So, shower, CHECK.
And I’m on my way to a writing wonderland.
And now the preface to the day is started and will be continued as possible, later today.
Thanks!
It has been a crazy holiday weekend full of frivolity and partying with my family and the squibs.
This is indeed a new chapter of my life.
My old life used to be based on income from the articles, and the stories I have written. And I have written almost 1100 at this point. They work some. Mostly in their youth, but some continue to work on and on, bringing me a little money each month.
I have written pieces in Medium, Newsbreak, Quora, and several publications, in addition to penning a few books.
You know, writing for the sake of writing.
My new direction will point more toward books. Microbooks, to be precise. They have become more popular and profitable than other books.
My subsequent articles will no longer be self-serving, as I am, but, rather, they will show readers exciting glimpses at, and directions to, my books. In the process, I will be trying very hard to assemble my list of readers in one place, instead of letting them be spread out on different platforms. That way, when a new book comes out, I can email one note instead of six or eight. I have also noticed, on some of the platforms, there is more and more control and censorship of sorts, so best to get away from all that.
All frivolity aside, my sign-off will include, most importantly, where you can find a book or books of mine, and where you can join us in our quest for literary freedom.
Thank you so much for reading!
