Lest you think I’m just another old goober whining, let me preface my remarks today, by saying that in my life, I have spent some time in the radio business, the music industry, and the affluent sales field. I’ve done a minuscule amount of speaking, and I’ve written and published a fair amount.
But this week I discovered that I can’t be understood.
A lifetime of communication down the old tubes.
I simply attempted to purchase, have delivered, and receive items from the two largest businesses in this country. After multiple attempts, I ended up speaking to customer service at the two.
We spoke different languages.
Somehow to them, “Don’t you hang up on me again!’ and “poor service” were terms of endearment.
“You didn’t refund my money- you CHARGED me AGAIN!” was about the highest compliment they could receive.
Customer service, communication, and cash are all only fossils to me now.
Customer serviceasaurus.
