It was a Dark Day in Nashville Yesterday
Three children and three adults won’t see today because of it.

A person blasted into a church-run elementary school and killed six people.
The end of the big plans.
My heart is especially heavy, because half of them may have had big plans to go home that afternoon and ride their bike and maybe play with their dog.
The other half was there to work in that school and serve those small ones.
Nashville’s police department was fast, courageous, and effective. It took only about thirteen minutes from the first call to stop the evil.
One of the also distressing things to me about the incident is the speed with which one group picked up the blaming to serve their own agendas.
Minorities.
One lady was on an almost endless video loop expressing how our state was so “gross how they treat minorities,” although there was no identification, or as it turns out, involvement of minorities. John Drake, our police chief is only to be applauded for his exceptional leadership, so I do wonder where her views came from.
Somebody else proclaimed that our governor was only worried about stopping drag shows and not letting kids change their gender, instead of protecting the children. As it turns out, the shooter was transgendered. So that doesn’t quite fit together.
Gun violence.
And, of course, the gun violence crowd started up immediately, including our president, vice president, and first lady. The incident had barely played out when they had their turns before national cameras.
In Nashville, a current huge problem is having a group of pedestrians that can’t seem to coexist with traffic. Some of us even use cars to hurt people in large numbers. We have a big number of knifings and some people whose weapon of choice is a pipe to beat someone over the head.
The evil.
But it is sad that we have a group who are so fast to use any terrible occurrence to try to further their own political agenda. The blame game is so much easier than finding and facing real problems.
