No this is not Ernest Tubb’s Record Shop on Broadway. but these are records. I am an analog cowboy at the digital rodeo. These are not my record albums, but it is refreshing to see that I am not the only one who has albums. I have A LOT OF THEM.
They do sound sweet.
Of course, you need a good turntable, and a great, probably more expensive than you are thinking, cartridge and stylus. I’m not even talking about moving coil. or Shibata stylus, just a good, entry-level needle.
Then the record needs to be hospital-clean, using a good solution on a brush made for the LP ablutions.
From there the music signal needs to go through very expensive cables to a sweet-sounding pre-amp and to an amplifier to become ready for your choice of speakers. I am leaning toward electrostatic or an e-combo along with a bottom-end subwoofer. My favorite-sounding spreakers right now are Martin-Logan.
If you need more audio info, leave me a comment below. I will be getting to them in the next couple of days and would love to help you.
It snowed here last night but is supposed to melt in a day or two. I have three doctor appointments and a physical therapist who needs to work with me this week, but I am not sure what traction my walker will have in this snow, so I am worried. You guys be careful, too!

later,
