I had a sales mentor once who told me “you’ve paid your dues. You have been nice to your sphere of influence. The business will just come to you.” I had to get a new mentor.
I posted to my old social media followers after I started with Medium. Crickets.
I thought that since I had followed and chatted with them for so long, they would jump at Medium.
“What have you done for me lately?” is now.
The fact is, if you have a following, only a small group of them are your core fans.
