DAILY WRITER'S JOURNAL
"You can't always get what you want." -Mick Jagger, Keith Richards
GOOD MONDAY MORNING, ALL. Real-life writer here.
Tour Journal Daily: Try Not to Hurl Before You Hit Publish
Today’s writing tip?
Try not to hurl before you hit “Publish.”
But if you do... you’re still a writer.
Still a human.
Still showing up.
I don’t know about you, but waiting on test results (like a PET scan) while managing MS and stroke leftovers isn’t exactly a creativity booster. It’s more of a "let’s sit here quietly and maybe swear under my breath" kind of mood.
I was going to write something deep today. Something wise about life, fear, resilience.
But honestly?
I’d rather get drunk.
Or sleep.
Or pin things on Pinterest that no one clicks on.
Instead, here I am—typing this small truth for you. Because sometimes that’s all I’ve got. A line. A shrug. A weird sense of humor that keeps me upright.
Maybe this post is useless.
Maybe tomorrow will be better.
Maybe you feel like hurling too.
If so, you’re not alone.
We’re in this strange, messy creative life together.
Stay upright. Stay honest. Stay weird.
See you tomorrow.
thanks,
-don
