Well, it’s Thursday already, and I’m still concentrating on my projects.
But it is quiet here down on the river. Reminds me of a song by Neil Young and Crazy Horse.
Ko-Fi CLICK HERE TO BUY ME A CUP OF COFFEE. THANK YOU!
I have decided that my main website needed a lot of work, at DonMartinBooks.com so I have spent a lot of time on it this week.
I have left my usual travel trailer camper-office, and I’m in my river office, where all I can hear is a slow, steady lapping of the waves against the side of my foundation.
More on the way this afternoon!
The stats on the site have exploded at this point. Thank you so much!
Recently, I have been studying the website of an author named Neil Gaiman. It is awesome. His site itself is a work of art, and he, as a person, has such a rugged, grizzled appearance, that his looks cry out “I am an author!” Now, I do need to tell you up-front that I’m not talking about a man-crush, here, just that he does look very cool.
You know how, when you were younger, and you thought somebody looked good or looked cool, you thought about how great it would be if you could look that cool?
Or wouldn’t it be great to have an author’s website that wonderful?
But I must say, it appears that he writes about pretty much whatever he enjoys. He writes a journal, but not daily or weekly. Sometimes it goes unattended for a month or more.
I try to be more structured and consistent, but I have to say that can get old sometimes.
In all the months I have searched for the perfect niche that I would enjoy and be an expert on, I have also nearly decided like Mr. Cool, to simply do what I want and have fun. I am right now increasing my portfolio of non-fiction books on Amazon for income. As for my niche, I really enjoy just rambling rather than tackling a certain subject every day.
Some people get a rather large following by vomiting up details of their own life, but I would never be so smitten with myself to think anyone would be the slightest bit interested in my life thoughts or activities any more than anyone genuinely wonders about where Spiderman goes to the bathroom or buys his groceries.
By the end of August, I hope to have four more books available at Amazon probably on the topics of real estate and writing. I do also hope to build my readership quickly, even though my books aren’t worth reading unless you are studying to increase your impostors complex like I have.
So there will be a lot of work there.
I will try to mutter more here frequently. So there’s some more work.
