Yes, I do work for myself. And, yes, I do work out of a luxurious mop closet to keep overhead low.
But keeping overhead low does not also mean sacrificing the benefits of more traditional employment.
We observe “Informal Fridays” to keep morale high. This picture here is me helping the caterer with our sumptuous Friday feast- all paid by the company.
Other benefits of our slimmed-down workforce are shorter sales meetings, more winning office pools, and a good deal less office drama.
The entire staff is fresh and ready to work first thing in the morning after their non-commute, and almost nobody sneaks out early behind the boss’ back.
The worst part about today is that I have to pick someone to come in tomorrow (Saturday) and do inventory.
Other than that, this working for yourself is pretty cool!
