IT’S BEEN A FITFUL DAY SO FAR TODAY.
I did not get a lot done this morning.
It was NOT the bendy part of bees’ legs.
I started with my daily writing first thing, which was to be today’s Real-Life Writing Journal entry. I was in the midst of replacing several pics on one site when my power stumbled.
When the power shuts off to this house, even momentarily, the Wi-Fi signal stops. Until something receives some attention.
Now. very recently we received an upgrade from AT&T to fiber optics from our older DSL and dial-up system. They promised to save me money, said my current system was becoming extinct, and that the new one was a leeeetle faster uploading (?) but the first thing I saw was that the installers tried to upsell me on a range extender. I thought it would be fine here in the Winnebago, and it is, unless I am in another part of the camper.
The signal IS a bit weak.
As in “could ____ through a screen door and never touch the wire” weak.
When there is a power interruption, I must go to the router, speak words of encouragement to it, turn it off and back on, and stand on one leg and bark like a chicken. I discovered all that through trial and error.
Even with all that done, it likes to pout for a while, and if someone didn’t know that, they would do it all again.
Also, the router’s password can be found in tiny letters on the back of it, and you absolutely have to have that if it ever bursts into flames. I recommend you copy it down somewhere before it flames up because router fires are terribly hot.
So that’s all done - check!
MY NEWSLETTER UPDATE
This is a newsletter about three things.
It is about my writing for those who enjoy it.
Since many of you have been Googling how to make some bucks writing, here are pointers on how they might do the same type of writing on the side.
Part of this report will concern building the number of subscribers to this publication.
My next goal is 500 readers, so I must admit I will have to work harder at this.
I still need 499 more people.
This letter is all free now, with a tip jar if you wish.
Thanks,
-don
