Good morning from Nashville!
Last night in Nashville was the big CMA Awards gala.
Many of the entertainers were still pretty self-absorbed, but, then, refreshingly, many were not. Or did not seem to be.
We discovered Chris Stapleton was a gravelly-voiced angel, Jelly Roll is more than just a breakfast food, Jimmy Buffet was an awesome act, and War and Treaty was Motown in the Midsouth, with some fantastic harmony and some pedal steel.
Keith Urban did not even get nominated in the most intricate tattoo category, so he may be feeling low today.
Enough about big stars. now back to me.
As we continue to sort out the newsletter warts, it is still my intent to let this one remain free. Even the Tuesday writing tips.
I must admit the little perky one in one of her videos directed straight to me, said that I should let people pay if they wish, but still make everything free. So I will continue to think about all that, and perhaps even tweak things every once in a while.
“Who am I to be giving writing tips,?” you ask, inflaming my impostor syndrome slightly.
Remember there are at minimum two voices for a newsletter, “The Pro from Dover” and “The Fellow Traveler,” on the journey with you, the reader.
I must point out at this time, that this journal will be a less dramatic one than some I have seen. You can tell from the picture at the top that we will have a sort of digital nomad motif, but to follow along, you won’t have to visit ruins or hike the surrounding trails. You won’t have to maintain a diet of crustacean smoothies, and you won’t have to get in touch with yourself outside your normal ablutions.
You won’t have to learn a new vocabulary.
(Circa 1973, me, at my home on Lookout Mountain, TN, resting after a Saturday of riding and jumping my dirt bike. Note helmet-hair.)
This journal will be almost daily, sometimes more than once a day, but sent out to mailboxes only once or twice a week. If anyone has any suggestions or special needs, please let me know, but with no whining.
Thanks for reading,
