Back Pages Journal
Endless Summer Edition
It’s Wednesday.
My last journal entry was January, Fri 13th, and then I got distracted for the last week and a half with many shiny things.
That Friday I began a new MS prescription with some apprehension. The cost of it is unimaginable, and I thank God for Blue Cross and my wife. Not in that order. I was anxious to see how it worked.
I’m sorry to say, that I still fell in the floor, but I was actually able to get up without calling the fire department. (God bless them, too!)
I don’t get road rage as badly as I used to, even when I get on the road.
Everything is starting to be funny again now, which is as it should be.
Speaking of which, (things being as they should be) there are two of many things I remember in my grandparents’ houses. One was a needlepoint version of …
Pippa's Song
by Robert Browning
The year's at the spring,
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hill-side's dew-pearl'd;
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn;
God's in His heaven,
All's right with the world!
And another was a small print of Maxfield Parrish’s “Daybreak” nearby, also very peaceful, especially to a primary schooler.
More soon.
