As a writer, am I truly skanky or merely janky?

Writers have asked themselves this question for 500 years.
Am I a true talent, or merely a flash in the pan? Are my stories deep, or only prurient? Will my today’s reader still want my tomorrow’s stories?
At the risk of sounding repetitive, the answer is in the depth of my bench.
If some of my readers happen to nuance into enjoying a slightly different angle of a particular genre, is my reader bench deep enough to absorb the change?
The answer is in the old family (tribe) email list. This should be your highest priority whether you are an old pro or as new as you can be.
Your contacts will probably come in part from social media. Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, YouTube, Medium, Instagram, Pinterest, and perhaps even TikTok, among another few, will or can be the source of a great number of contacts.
I recommend you start with but one or two until you feel successful at those. Always remember that followers are not subscribers. The first is good and the second gold.
