6 Senses of a Medium Writer
We have one more than most.
We have one more than most.
I know the senses. We gave been taught those forever.
For me, my being a Medium writer has enhanced some of my existing senses and added one more. I am interested if others of you have experienced the same.
Sense of Sight. Visual. I have always been a visual learner. I see details and balance in things that others may not. I see music. I see the structure and the harmony. I love to mix music, talk about music, and occasionally make it. I long for charts and graphs (but not necessarily outlines.)
Sense of Hearing. Auditory. I tend to hear details that either others do not or they ignore. I could always tell you what type of car I hear 7 miles away. but not the color of it.
Sense of Smell. Olfactory. Ever since I quit smoking 30 yrs ago, I can smell a hamburger on somebody's grill in the next neighborhood. Or if somebody lights up a cigarette two counties over.
Sense of Taste. It goes without saying, I love food. I can analyze your recipes with this keen sense. Instead of a dinner-bell on the back porch, we could have a much quieter clove of garlic to crush to call me from the back forty.
Sense of Touch. I don't feel imaginary bugs crawling all over me as some people do, but there certainly are things I love to touch.
Sense of Impending Doom. This one seems to be more cultivated than innate, and it may be prevalent in Medium writers. It is often demonstrated by incoherent rambling about algorithms, side hustles, and publications that pay more.
I know today is Saturday, and I’m told by other Medium writers that this story has no readers now, but maybe Monday, somebody will find it. I hope I’m not way off base with this, and please feel free to tell me your thoughts.
