Two weeks ago, I wrote an article about 3 Writing Hacks I used attempting to make more money from my writing on Medium.
Accidentally omitted one.
I accidentally omitted one and, while Iโm here, I would like to edit and refine a different part of that same newer article.
Please do not think I write articles that are riddled with inaccuracies, but rather, that my reticular activator begins to work harder upon their completion. It continues to prove and test the total accuracy.
If I write about a red car, I begin to see red cars everywhere. I see whatโs good and whatโs bad about red cars.
Primary photo.
That being said, my one additional hack is in regard to your primary pictures. I mentioned many weeks ago that good choices seem to be either a dog or an attractive person regardless of the content of your story.
It is not deceptive, nor would it be considered โclick-baitโ because you donโt know from where youโre sitting whether or not my dog pictured above is thinking about a writing career.
The additional edit I would add would be for you to disregard my earlier inclusion of the 150-word short form in your writing. Upon subsequent dissection of my stats, I find that, although they may add numbers to your portfolio, they donโt add much reading time, but they are a fair amount of work to write.
Longer stories.
I would now say to try to make almost all of your efforts be directed toward the seven-minute mark, only occasionally dropping toward the three-minute level. That change, along with links to one or two of your other stories, should help increase your reading time.
At the end of the day, thatโs how we get paid.
As with most of my stories concerning writing, they are in no way meant to be the authority on the subject. I am simply a constant experimenter to find improvements in whatever I am doing, and I enjoy being able to relate my findings to others who may be involved in the same searches.
Further thoughts and observations.
The tweaking the article I would do, at this point after continuing to look at new articles by authors who have been at this longer than I, would be in terms not of variety, but the length of stories.
A seven-minute story may be educational, but it is still hard on the reader and the writer. Several authors I read frequently are leaning toward writing two short stories, less than three minutes each, and one longer, maybe a five-minute story in a given time period.
Here is also where the stories differ. Where one likes to do that every week or two, another meets the goal daily.
Nobody ever argues against writing consistently, and frequently. The definition of frequent differs a bit, as does their explanation of why each is effective, in their opinions.

This area marks the end of the public story. It also marks two new theories I am putting into effect. Firstly, I am in a position to wind down my concentration on โHow-Toโ stories for Conversations Medium Publication to get it up and running.
Secondly, I am easing back to my older writing voice where we can have fun without having to be educational.

Even when we donโt have a newly published story to end, we may have some stand-alone notes from the home office areas. They will probably have the primary picture of me and the home office as you may recall.
